Here are a few songs I’ve been liking a lot lately. I’ll make this a semi-regular posting so you can know what I’m into so you’ll know what you should be listening to if you want to be cool like me. And you do. LOL
This first one is Luke Bell with “Where Ya Been.” Sad story about this guy. He passed on at the young age of 32 earlier this year. He had some mental struggles as many of us do and I guess he OD’d. You can read it on the Google. He was a modern country singer but has old timey/classic country stylings. Would have loved to hear what he could have done in the future.
This particular song is real catchy, it also has some lyrics that really resonate with me on a personal level. It’s also a little ironic that Luke sort of went out on the town and wasn’t seen since at the end of his life.
This next one is by the Good Gollies on Mashed Potato Records and is called Rosemary. It is another vintage sounding song, a style which I’ve been really into lately. My favorite part is at about 1:59 when the Tom Bodet-sounding guy comes on and says his part. It’s great stuff!
This last one is by Chris Acker and is called “Big Idea.” A real simple tune but a great one. And this video is also a top notch lo-fi apparently VHS filmed work of art. Love that the big idea was walking around his mind with its shoes untied. Relateable.
So there’s the first installment of what music/videos I’m into lately. Do you have any you’d like to share with the class? Post them in the comments!
