Espresso A Go Go

I think coffee is pretty good. I’m not a coffee snob or anything but I do like a good cuppa. I typically get drip coffee when I’m ordering from a coffee shop. At home, I use an old percolator that was my grandparents’ to make my bean juice mainly, with the Keurig and its re-useable K-cups occasionally being put to use.

That all changed last month when I tried espresso for the first time in forever and had a great experience with it. It was on the next-level from what I had been having. So good and tasty and even gave me a little caffeine buzz.

So I thought I’d take a look and see what it would take to get that experience at home. I searched my usual places to search for things to buy, Amazon and Walmart, and you know what I found? Espresso machines are very expensive. Well, expensive to me, I’m sure you find them to be a great value. But I can’t spend a hundred, or hundreds of dollars for a coffee machine.

After scrolling for a bit I came across this simple but brilliant device, which I just today found out is officially called a Moka Pot but you’ll find it listed as a stovetop espresso maker. The particular one I got cost me less than $10. You can pay more if you want, I don’t really know the differences between the different price points and I’m not sure there is. If you know feel free to let everyone else in on it in the comment section!

The only thing I’d change is that I’d get one that can make more at a time. I got a 6 cup capacity one. I know espresso is supposed to be served in smaller cups so the 6 cups makes about 2 decent sized regular cups for me. It’s fine if it’s just me having it but if anyone else wants some we have to do two batches. It’s pretty easy cleanup so not a huge deal.

In conclusion, you should try this if you like coffee.
